Group Rides

Mondays 6pm: MTB ride suitable for all levels although complete beginners might want to start with the Tuesday ride.  We will split up if needed.  We usually ride for 11/2 -2hrs. Meet at the shop.

Tuesdays 5:30pm: Chill road ride. We have started this popular ride again. Plan on 15-20 miles of riding averaging about 15mph. Usually we are out for about an hour and a half.

Tuesdays 5:30pm: Beginner MTB ride  this is for true beginners to learn the basics of handling a mountain bike and getting to know some trails in the area. It will be gentle paced and non technical. Ride for about an hour. Meet at shop.

Wednesdays 5pm: Womens MTB Ride. All welcome although complete beginners might want to start with the Tuesday ride. We ride for just under 2 hours usually. Most often we meet at the shop but every now and then we visit one of the other local trail systems-check on Facebook

Fridays 5pm: NEW! Rainbow Ride. An LGBT social group ride, casual-paced, up to about 10 miles with drinks at the Common Loon Public House afterwards. Not yet restarted for 2019 but if you are interested let us know and it can happen!

Fridays 5:30pm: Road Ride. Started again for 2019. A longer, faster paced ride than Tuesday’s.

Saturday morning Casual Ride 10:30am:  We will try to do this ride again soon.

Group Ride Requirements

  • Helmet required for all group rides.
  • If the weather is questionable please call ahead to see if we are going out. 207.866.3525
  • Lights are recommended for road rides
  • All night rides do require you to bring your own headlight.
  • Unless otherwise noted, all rides leave from the shop in downtown Orono.
  • Check Facebook for last minute changes to our ride schedule!

Anyone is welcome to come on our group rides. We enjoy meeting fellow cyclists who share our love of a great sport. The only requirements are that you wear a helmet, bring an appropriate machine and have fun!  If we have enough people show up sometimes we will split the rides into two groups based on ability level. The whole idea is to enjoy riding bikes together. Please come join us!

2019 Thanksgiving Plans at Rose Bike

We will be closed November 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving. Open Saturday 9-5.

We will have our traditional group mountain bike ride 9am Thanksgiving morning. Meet at the shop. Ride then eat a lot.
