Jim RoseJim Rose (Owner)

Jim Rose spent his childhood in Guilford, Connecticut. He moved to Orono in 1979 to attend the University of Maine and has called the town home ever since. He has two sons, Angus and Cam. Jim's favorite ride is the Dedham loop and his favorite vacuum cleaner is any of the ten or so Electrolux models hibernating in the shop. If you come into the shop and need a tube, Jim is the ONLY one who can help you, since he keeps them locked away in a secret place where no other shop employee dare venture...

Ben BurpeeBenjamin Burpee (Sales/wrench)

Ben... where to start?... Ben is a full time student at UMO as an art major. He has spent time studying abroad and has returned to UMO to finish his schooling. Ben has always been around bikes, his dad is a avid cyclist and is good friends with Jim as well. Ben has been with us at Rose Bike for a full season now and is well qualified to work on most any bicycle. In the off season, Ben focuses on studying and also holds a part-time job at the library on campus.

Corey OdermannCorey Odermann (Service Manager)

Corey joined us here at Rose bike in March of 2002. He is the full-time mechanic and can usually be found near the back of the shop wrenching bikes. If he can't fix it than its time for a new bike! Currently he rides a Trek EX 9.9 and Felt F55. Happily married to Esther now for eight years Corey enjoys the smalltown life that only a place like Orono can provide. If not out riding you can count on Corey to either be eating or driving his VW.

Chelsea Lucas Chelsea Lucas (Sales Manager)

Chelsea is usually the first smile you see when you enter the shop! She has been with Rose Bike for about a year now and does a great job at getting every customer what they need. If she doesn't have the answer, she knows where to get it. Chelsea is also a student at UMO and has just about finished with her Thesis. What does the future hold for Chelsea? We'll just have to wait and see. Stop by the shop and say "hey" and don't forget to check out her sweet, customized, Surly Long Haul Trucker!

JeffJeff (Sales/Wrench)

Jeff joined us in the summer of '06. He is a UMO student and works part-time at Rose Bike as a mechanic and salesperson. Jeff brings with him four years of experience from our friends downstate at Berger's Bike shop in York. Currently he rides a sweet Gary Fisher 29er and a few single-speed campus commuters that have been pieced together from odds and ends around the shop. Jeff can fix anything! Bring in what you've got and he'll make it work better than the day it was new!

Matt McEntee

Matt (Sales/Wrench)

Matt has spent a couple years with us now. He is a perfectionist when it comes to bikes. Matt has spent time in various types of jobs so he is kind of a "Jack of all trades." Matt is also finishing his Thesis, bringing an end to his career as a student at UMO. Matt rides a Trek 1500 road bike and also has a mountain bike that he mostly uses as a bad weather commuter, but he also can be found on the trails in the Umaine forest. Come in and say "hi," he doesn't bite!

Myles Butler

Myles Butler (Sales/Wrench)

Myles Butler is a fun loving guy who is almost always smiling. He enjoys cycling, both on and off road, (sometimes a little of both, like the carriage trails). Myles has a cool Trek 1000 for the road and a sweet 6500 for off road. This year Myles started racing on the Rose Bike Racing team and did quite well. Myles is a student at UMO and has spent several previous years working at Shaw and Tenney here in Orono before coming to work for us. Stop in and say "boogity boogity boo!"... he'll know what it means.

MJ Jones

MJ Jones (Sales/Wrench)

MJ is a Grad student at UMO. She hopes to someday be a math/science teacher. She is working part-time at Rose Bike Shop because she loves the great outdoors. If not at school or work, you probably won't be able to find her. She is probably out in the middle of the woods hiking, biking, climbing, camping, swimming, skiing, paddling... yeah, you get the idea!
